My journey in SAP began in 2004 as an ABAP consultant. From the start, I was involved in diverse requirements and implementations, focusing on the SD, MM, FI, and CO modules. Throughout my career, I have consistently demonstrated a strong technical aptitude and an ability to quickly master new technologies. This trait enabled me to spearhead knowledge acquisition in other SAP practices, such as WebDynpro, SAP CRM (BOL, BSP), and legacy Java Struts-based sales modules like Internet Sales (ISA) and Internet Services (ICSS).My adaptability was crucial, especially on projects involving technologies outside the consultancy’s core domain. I led implementations of emerging SAP tools like SAP PI/PO and SAP Fiori. By this stage, I had also developed deep functional expertise, allowing me to combine technical skill with strategic business knowledge.With our consultancy’s specialization in CRM, the opportunity arose to lead the first implementation in Brazil of SAP Marketing (formerly Hybris Marketing), SAP Sales Cloud (C4C), and SAP Commerce. As a Solution Architect, I was responsible not only for the technical execution but also for the complete functional design. This flagship project was the starting point for our consultancy’s transformation into a boutique firm specializing in SAP CX. Recognizing my leadership and expertise, I was invited to become a partner and assumed the role of Technical Director. I was responsible for the pre-sales and implementation of over 15 projects covering the entire integrated SAP CX portfolio (Commerce, Marketing, Sales, Services, and Mindtouch). Under my technical leadership, our consultancy became one of the top 3 SAP CX players in Brazil, and we frequently collaborated with SAP’s own sales teams. During this time, I obtained certifications in SAP Marketing and SAP Commerce. In 2021, EY acquired our company, and I assumed the position of Executive Director in the Business Transformation (BT) business line. At EY, I continued to lead the architecture and implementation of large-scale SAP CX projects, including SAP Marketing at Glanbia and SAP Commerce at White Martins. My most challenging project was the optimization of an $8 million SAP Commerce contract at Telefônica. Initially sold with a 28% margin and no guaranteed consumption model, the project required strategic intervention to ensure profitability. I strategically allocated consultant teams (squads), initially leveraging our most experienced members. Despite the initial impact on margin, our commitment to high-quality delivery built significant client trust, allowing us to later diversify the squads with consultants at various experience levels, including trainees. This strategy was highly successful, increasing the project margin to 34% with a team of 70 consultants. We are currently renewing the contract with a 37% margin. Simultaneously, I continued to serve as a lead architect to maintain deep SAP CX expertise at EY. To expand our service offerings, I obtained certifications in SAP CDP and SAP Emarsys. This enabled us to secure the first SAP Emarsys project for Arezzo in the USA, replacing their existing Salesforce solution. The success at Arezzo directly qualified us to win a subsequent SAP Emarsys project for Irmãos Muffato. At Irmãos Muffato, the challenge was to implement a product recommendation system that integrated prices and offers from their physical stores. I designed and developed a hyper-personalization solution in Python that integrates these personalized offers into emails sent by SAP Emarsys. We also secured an ongoing contract with Irmãos Muffato for the continuous evolution of this innovative system. Currently, I lead large-scale projects for Telefônica, in addition to leading pre-sales engagements and prospecting new business opportunities.
